BJP Slams Revanth Reddy’s Remarks
Hyderabad : The Telangana BJP has strongly condemned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for politicizing central decisions and making baseless allegations against the NDA-led government. The party accused the Chief Minister of emulating his party leader Rahul Gandhi by ignoring the facts behind national initiatives.
State BJP spokesperson N.V. Subhash stated, “The process for selecting Padma awardees is transparent and unbiased, involving a panel of experts who shortlist candidates based on merit and recommendations from state governments. Criticizing this process without understanding it reflects ignorance and is condemnable.”
Subhash also referenced media reports alleging corruption in Padma award allocations during Congress rule, asserting, “That culture is a Congress legacy. Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office, awards have been granted solely on merit, free from political bias.” He emphasized that Congress’s historical practice of naming public infrastructure after one family exemplifies the dynastic approach that no longer holds relevance.
On Revanth Reddy’s criticism of the new UGC guidelines, Subhash emphasized that the changes were necessary to counter political interference and uphold the constitutional role of Governors. He dismissed allegations that the Constitution was under threat, reminding the Chief Minister of Congress’s history, including the imposition of Emergency and frequent constitutional amendments for political gains.
Subhash concluded by urging Revanth Reddy to refrain from unwarranted criticism aimed at pleasing his party leaders. He remarked, “His rise to Chief Minister was due to favouritism, sidelining more deserving leaders. Such actions and rhetoric do not resonate with the people.”
The BJP reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, meritocracy, and preserving democratic values under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
