Hyderabad : Under the leadership of the Women’s Congress, a significant protest took place demanding the implementation of 33 percent reservation for women. Women’s Congress workers, led by Sunita Rao, attempted to besiege the BJP office. Starting from Gandhi Bhavan, the protest saw a large turnout of women, prompting a massive police deployment at the site.
The police stopped the women at the gate, but Sunita Rao and other activists tried to climb over it to reach the BJP office. Rao asserted their commitment to fighting for the right of Nari Nyay, insisting that the 33 percent reservation in legislatures for women must be implemented.
