New York, USA: In a landmark move, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has successfully concluded a major expansion agreement with global IT services giant Cognizant. The deal involves the establishment of a new facility in Hyderabad, spanning over one million square feet, which is projected to generate 15,000 new jobs swiftly. Cognizant, renowned for its leadership in IT services and consulting, unveiled these ambitious expansion plans following a key meeting with Chief Minister Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. The groundwork for this significant agreement was laid during Chief Minister Reddy’s visit to Davos earlier this year.
The newly announced center will be designed to accommodate up to 20,000 employees, underscoring Cognizant’s dedication to tapping into Hyderabad’s extensive talent pool and strong infrastructure to bolster its global operations. This development follows a productive discussion between Chief Minister Reddy, Minister Sridhar Babu, and Cognizant’s CEO, Ravi Kumar S, which emphasized Hyderabad’s strategic role as a burgeoning technology and innovation hub in India.
Ravi Kumar S expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “We are excited to expand our presence in Hyderabad, a city that continues to demonstrate its strengths as a technology and innovation hub.” The new facility will enhance Cognizant’s ability to serve its global clientele and continue delivering state-of-the-art solutions in IT services and consulting.
