On His Birthday, KTR Supports Weavers’ Families and Distributes Laptops to Students
Hyderabad : On his birthday, KTR announced a compassionate initiative under his annual “Gift A Smile” program, pledging financial assistance to the families of 13 weavers who tragically took their own lives in the past seven months. This support will help cover educational and other future needs for the children of these families.
During the celebrations in Hyderabad, KTR distributed laptops to 100 students from the State Home, emphasizing the importance of these devices for their higher education. This gesture continues a tradition he began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he chose to celebrate his birthday by giving back to the community, launching the “Gift A Smile” initiative.
Over the years, KTR has been involved in various philanthropic activities through this program, including providing over 100 ambulance vehicles, tablets for 6,000 students preparing for competitive exams, and three-wheeler scooters to 1,400 differently-abled individuals. He mentioned that he intended to give laptops to the State Home students last year but was delayed due to elections, fulfilling that promise this year.
Expressing his satisfaction with the ongoing initiative, KTR reflected on the fulfillment he derives from these charitable activities, noting that while life is uncertain, bringing joy and support to others is deeply rewarding. His wife Shailima, son Himanshu, and daughter Riyanshi also participated in the event.
