Secunderabad : The Secunderabad Railway Police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a surprise checking operation at Secunderabad Railway Station, targeting drug peddlers on platforms and trains. As a result of this operation, one male suspect was apprehended while transporting 18 kilograms of dry ganja from Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh to Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The arrested individual, identified as Abubakar Kasam Shaikh (47 years old, a plumber by occupation from Mumbai), was caught with a trolley suitcase containing dry ganja worth Rs. 4,50,000. He had purchased the ganja in Vishakhapatnam for Rs. 90,000 and intended to sell it at a higher price in Mumbai. The seizure and arrest were made under the provisions of the NDPS Act (Cr.No.313/2024 U/s 8(c) r/w 20 (b) (ii) (B)) by the GRP Secunderabad.
B. Saieashwar Goud, IRP/SHO of RPS Secunderabad, D. Ramesh SIRP, SK Quadeer Ahmad RHC 130, M. David Raju RHC 583, and RPF Staff V. Satyam Naidu HG 767/SC Post were instrumental in the apprehension, under the supervision of Chandana Deepti IPS, Supdt. of Police, and S.N. Jawed, DSRP SC(U). ADGP Railway and Road Safety Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS commended the efforts of the Secunderabad GRP and assured suitable rewards for the team.
