Hyderabad : In a significant operation, the Medipally Police have arrested four individuals involved in selling fake gold biscuits. The accused, identified as Karreddula Vijay Kumar, Namboori Devid Livingstone, Bogiri Sunil Ghavasker, and Adigopula Om Sai Kiritee, were apprehended after a businessman, Dileep Barfa, filed a complaint.
Barfa was duped into paying Rs 1.16 crore for what he believed were genuine gold biscuits. The accused lured victims by initially selling real gold at a lower price, later substituting it with counterfeit gold-coated biscuits. The police seized three cars, a police uniform, Rs 6.86 crore in dummy cash, Rs 51 lakh in genuine cash, and 5 kg of fake gold biscuits during the arrest.
The operation was led by Commissioner Dr. Tarun Joshi, IPS, and DCP P.V. Padmaja, IPS, under the supervision of ACP S. Chakrapani and SHO Govind Reddy.
