Hyderabad(Oct, 9) : On October 9, 2023, the Election Commission made a significant announcement in five states regarding the upcoming elections Schedule . Concurrently, Telangana Police initiated search operations at various locations. During their meticulous vehicle inspections in Hyderabad, the police made several notable seizures of large sums of money lacking proper documentation.
In Autonagar of Vanasthalipuram, while conducting vehicle checks, the police encountered Samreddy Bharth Reddy, whose Innova Car with registration number TS 08 EO 8369 raised suspicions. Upon inquiry, Reddy disclosed that he was in possession of Rs. 5,16,050 (five lakhs, fourteen thousand, and fifty rupees) in cash.
Later, at the same location, Edukanta Jagadhish Goud from Tukkuguda, Maheswaram, drew attention while driving a Swift Car with registration number TS 12 EE 2821. When questioned, Goud admitted to carrying Rs. 1,60,000 (one lakh, sixty thousand rupees) without proper documentation.
Meanwhile, the Habeeb Nagar Police made substantial seizures during vehicle checks at Hameed Cafe Aghapura Junction. They confiscated Rs. 5,00,000 (five lakhs) and Rs. 12,00,000 (twelve lakhs) concealed under the seat of an Activa scooter. These funds were seized pending further investigation.
Furthermore, acting on the directives of their superior officers, officers from Narayanamma Engineering College, Shaikpet, in collaboration with SI’s Vinod and Raghavender Reddy, as well as Patro and BC staff, conducted vehicle checks at 1830 hours. During this operation, they discovered an astonishing sum of 30 lakhs in unaccounted cash inside a Hyundai Creta bearing registration number TS 07 JE 8136. This significant discovery was promptly seized for further investigation.
This diligent effort by the police underscores their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the transparency of financial transactions during the election period.
