Hyderabad(Aug, 16) : K.T. Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD), led a significant meeting at Pragathi Bhavan to discuss the distribution of double-bedroom houses within Hyderabad’s boundaries. The meeting, held on Wednesday, included the presence of other important figures, such as Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Md. Mahmood Ali, Ch Malla Reddy, and Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao Goud, alongside senior officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
Officials provided updates during the meeting, highlighting the completion of 70,000 houses ready for distribution. They also shared that the process of handing over these homes to eligible beneficiaries is progressing efficiently, with the verification of applicants near completion.
The Minister of MA&UD revealed that out of the intended 100,000 2BHK houses to be built in the GHMC area, 75,000 have been successfully constructed. Around 4,500 houses have already been handed over to beneficiaries in their existing locations. The remaining 70,000 houses are set for distribution in five to six phases, with the first phase beginning within a week. The Minister emphasized the importance of swift preparations by GHMC officials.
The Ministers acknowledged the anticipation of the public for the distribution of these houses and emphasized that beneficiaries are being identified through impartial field visits, without any political interference. Additionally, discussions centered on the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme and the need to expedite its implementation process.
