Hyderabad(June, 24) : The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) has initiated a three-day statewide campaign in collaboration with the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Persons. Aimed at addressing drug abuse and illicit trafficking, the campaign seeks to raise awareness, educate youth, and break the stigma surrounding substance abuse. The campaign, held at the Telangana State Police Integrated Command and Control Center (TSPICCC), coincides with the upcoming International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26th.
Various activities have been organized as part of the campaign, including an open competition to name the campaign’s mascot, an oath-taking ceremony where young individuals enrolled themselves as Anti-Drug Soldiers, cultural performances, an expo, a fireside chat session with renowned triathlete Neil D’silvha, and a panel discussion on addiction prevention. The campaign aims to empower the youth and encourage their active participation in the fight against drugs.
Chief Guest, Actor Nikhil, delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the significance of collective action in combating drug abuse. He urged the youngsters to abstain from drugs and conveyed that it is not a cool or acceptable behavior. Actor Priyadarshi also shared insightful remarks, entertaining the audience with his witty style and encouraging vigilance.
CV Anand, Director of TSNAB and CP, Hyderabad, called upon the attendees to join the group of Anti-Drug Soldiers under the mission “Parivarthana” and become members of Anti-Drug Committees to be established in educational institutions across the state. He highlighted the government’s stringent measures against drugs and expressed gratitude to all the participants for their support.
The campaign, which received a positive response from the attendees, aims to make a lasting impact on the younger generation, empowering them to combat drug abuse and contribute to a drug-free society.
